01 / THE STORY

answering the questions that come before a drafting project

People looking for drafting help do not all start with the same question. Some need measured as-built drawings. Others are preparing a permit submission, comparing plan types or working out what a drafting company needs before it can quote a project.

Apex Drafting's search program addressed those specific needs. Timpson Marketing used the topics already appearing in Search Console to guide the content work, then improved the pages and paths that connect a research question to a relevant service or inquiry form.

The August 27 production release combined that content work with technical and performance improvements. The purpose was to give visitors useful answers on a site that was easier to navigate and quicker to load.

02 / THE STORY

What we changed

We published five practical resources: a Galveston ADU requirements guide, an explanation of floor-plan dimensions, a comparison of as-builts and record drawings, a digital plan-submission checklist, and a guide to requesting a drafting quote. The articles included official sources, answers to common questions and links to relevant pages on Apex's site.

We also upgraded the Austin, San Antonio, Fresno and Jacksonville service-area pages around documented demand for measured as-builts. Twenty-five new links from existing services, resources, pricing and the Texas hub made the improved pages easier to reach within the site.

The technical release applied consistent checks for page titles, descriptions, headings, canonical URLs and structured data across 121 generated pages. The site had 120 indexable sitemap URLs after that release. The build and internal-link checks passed, and priority production routes and assets returned successfully.

Performance work included a smaller main image, self-hosted fonts and changes to analytics loading. The documented August 27 mobile Lighthouse test improved from 75 to 100 for Performance, with Largest Contentful Paint dropping from 4.9 to 1.55 seconds. That is a historical lab test, not a promise that every visitor or later test will receive the same score.

We also built a first-party inquiry pipeline that stores a valid submission before attempting its email notification. This supports more reliable inquiry records and helps preserve the page and form a submission came from. It does not, by itself, prove that an inquiry became a project.

What we observed

We reviewed Google Analytics on September 17 using two consecutive, non-overlapping 28-day periods: July 23–August 19 and August 20–September 16.

Organic Search sessions increased from 68 to 113, a gain of 45 visits, or 66.2%. Engaged organic sessions increased from 33 to 64. The underlying counts matter: this is encouraging movement from a small starting base.

These are observed outcomes during the work. The comparison cannot isolate the contribution of the new articles, technical changes, market conditions or other activity. It also does not establish growth in paid projects or revenue.

What the next measurement needs to answer

The next business question is which inquiries turn into qualified opportunities and completed projects. Apex's key-event tracking changed on September 8, so its newly recorded events cannot be compared with the earlier zero as though they were new leads created by marketing.

For this case, the defensible result is increased organic traffic, more engaged organic visits and a documented improvement in a mobile lab test. The work and the measurements are shown together so a prospect can judge both.
